Water-King is an electronic water conditioner that inhibits scale formation in hot and cold water services, removes existing scale deposits and is the only product of its kind proven by independent laboratory tests to partially soften hot water (click here to see the tests). It requires no plumbing and has a 25 year maintenance free design life. It really is a ‘fit and forget’ alternative to conventional salt softeners!

Location of Units
In most homes, a single Water-King installed on the rising main will provide adequate scale protection and softer water.
Unvented hot water systems
When a combi boiler is used, and there is no hot water cylinder, a single Water-King unit fitted on the rising main will provide the whole house with protection. If only the boiler needs protection from scale, locate the Water-King within 2 metres of it. This also applies to a hot water cylinder under mains pressure. Only the cold supply pipe should be treated.
Vented hot water systems with cold water storage tank
Treated water delivered to a cold water storage tank will lose the effect of the treatment. Depending on water quality, this can happen very quickly. For this reason water is best treated after a storage tank. For best results we recommend two water-King units are fitted; one on the main inlet to the house (rising main) and one on the cold pipe that runs from the cold storage tank into the bottom of the hot cylinder (cold down service). If you decide to fit only a single unit, then you will get best value from it by fitting it on the cold down service. The signal is transmitted through the water and will treat all the water in the storage tank above it. If you have copper pipes that are cross bonded to the rising main, the taps fed from it should be adequately treated as well.

|Power Requirements||Each unit requires mains voltage supply within one metre of the unit. The unit should be located within 45 cm of the pipe being treated.|
|Plumbing Requirements and Pipe Composition||Each Water-King aerial requires up to 6 cm of straight pipe. They can be fitted either side of bends on horizontal or vertical pipes. Water-King units can be fitted to pipes of any material except lead. The pipe does not need to be cut, there is no plumbing involved, nor is there any requirement for an isolating bypass with associated valves. Insulation may be fitted over the aerials after installation.|
